About the Camp

SAFA Surf Camp is a locally owned surf camp in the eastern Sri Lankan coastal town of Arugam Bay. Known for its great waves and chilled surfer vibe, it is the perfect place to learn to surf.

Our team at SAFA (Surfing Access For All) team are locals who grew up around Arugam Bay. Their knowledge of the area, the ocean, the currents and the tides is one of the best around. They will have you paddling, standing on your board, catching and riding waves in no time, all with a big smile on your face.

Our Camp:

Our camp is your home away from home! We encourage a relaxed, family-style stay. Whether you are here for one night, one week or more, you will be part of the SAFA family.

Our beachfront villas frame the camp. You'll find a large communal area in the middle for relaxing after surfing. The kitchen facilities, beach bar, hammocks and sun loungers are available for all to use.

We can serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Fill up on porridge, eggs, fruit or traditional Sri Lanka curry and rice, all made from locally sourced ingredients and freshly prepared by our local chef. You can also enjoy drinks from the beach bar as well as a range of snacks to feed your hungry stomach after the surf.
